The plot is quite different from the original, although the essence is the same. The series follows the Acosta family, five brothers of Latin origin who live in the United States with their parents, and more specifically in Los Angeles, where they run a restaurant. However, their life is turned upside down when they receive a visit from the Immigration Agency.

The Acosta’s parents are deported back to Mexico, leaving them alone in the United States. As they search for a way to get their parents back into the country with them, they will have to survive on their own. Broadly speaking, the same plot, but with important differences in the background.

In addition to new voices in storytelling, they also had -evidently- new faces for the main cast. Brandon Lacurrente (Por 13 razones) is Emilio, the oldest of the brothers. He is followed by Niko Guardado (The Goldbergs) as Beto, Emily Tosta (Mayans M.C.) as Lucia and Elle Paris Legaspi as Valentina. As in the original, the fifth of them, Rafael, is a baby.

Party Down is an American comedy television series that aired between 2009 and 2010 on the Starz network. The fiction was warmly received by critics, although its official ratings were not up to par. The story was initially created by actor Paul Rudd, known for giving life to the character Ant-Man within the Marvel franchise, but he later had to abandon the project due to scheduling issues.

Adam Scott heads the list. The actor is known for participating in numerous fictions such as Big Little Lies, The Good Place or Tell Me You Love Me. He is joined by Ken Marino (Get Me Out of Paradise), Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), Martin Starr (Freaks and Geeks), Lizzy Caplan (Monster), Megan Mullally (Kings of Summer) and Jane Lynch (Glee).

However, the protagonist left the fiction after the end of the second season to do Parks and Recreations. Due to this decision, Party Down was canceled, although one of the creators, Rob Thomas, admitted that they would have continued the series without him and that the causes of the end were very different. To this fact contributed that Jane Lynch was also deleted from the cast to be part of the series Glee.

The personality of this mysterious twitterer, a lover of parties and obscenity, won over the social network to the point that she had more than 45,000 followers. Now, her television adaptation has a name and surname: Diane Dunbrowski. Erected as the queen of the Chicago show, the kettle holds true to her mantra: “If life gives you lemons, turn that shit into Mike’s Hard Lemonade.”

“She’s always partying and getting into trouble. And part of the show too is that the world is changing around her. She’s kind of a relic of the ’80s, from when her glory days (…) She’s still wearing her bedazzled jeans and spiky haircut, smoking and drinking while everyone else is working out and drinking green juice,” comments the creator.

In bringing this rebellious spirit to the screen, actress Lauren Ash (Superstore) plays a key role in bringing Diane herself to life. However, hers is just one of a collection of voices in the series. Among them: Katie Rich (The Red Dragon); Rory O’Malley (Central Park); Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project); Michael Patrick Thornton (Walk-In); Jill Talley (SpongeBob); Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Empire); or RuPaul (RuPaul’s Drag Race), winner of 8 Emmy Awards.
