A Star Is Born is the soundtrack to the 2018 film of the same name, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It was released simultaneously with the film on October 5, 2018 under the distribution of Interscope Records.[10] The album contains a total of 17 original songs, as well as a cover of “La vie en rose” and 15 dialogues. Gaga composed and produced most of the songs on the soundtrack, at times receiving support from some of her most frequent collaborators such as Mark Ronson, DJ White Shadow and Hillary Lindsey. Cooper, on the other hand, submitted his first compositions for the soundtrack, having co-written four songs with Lukas Nelson.[11] Generally speaking, the songs performed as a duet by Gaga and Cooper were mostly songs in the country genre, but the songs performed solo by Cooper were set within the rock genre, while Gaga’s songs had a more pop approach.[2] Interspersed with the soundtrack, Gaga’s songs were mostly country songs, but the songs performed solo by Cooper were set within the rock genre, while Gaga’s songs had a more pop approach.[2] Interspersed with Gaga’s songs were mostly country songs.

To promote the album, Interscope Records released the track “Shallow” as a single a week before the film’s release and the soundtrack release in question. The song managed to reach the top of the charts in countries such as Australia, Austria, Denmark, Canada, the United States, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Sweden.[82] It also earned a variety of platinum albums for its high sales. 83] Moreover, Gaga sang it as a soloist during the sixty-first Grammy Awards, and later as a duet with Cooper at the ninety-first Oscar Awards.[84][85] The song was also included in the repertoire of her Lady Gaga: Enigma residency.[86] The song was also included in the repertoire of her residency Lady Gaga: Enigma.[86] The song was also included in the repertoire of her Lady Gaga: Enigma.

After the Oscars, which added the award for Best Original Song to the list of winners for “A Star is Born”, the third remake of the 1937 film directed by William A. Wellman, the distributor Warner Bros. has announced that as of March 1, the film will return to North American theaters (and we still don’t know if it will be in Chile as well) with a new version that brings several new features.

This new version of the film will have 12 new minutes of previously unreleased scenes, including extended scenes of moments in which the stars of the film, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper perform songs such as “Shallow,” “Is That Alright?” which is performed by Lady Gaga (as Ally) during the wedding that takes place during the film (spoiler alert) and “Alibi”.

Surely this outcome has made more than one of us cry, but who did not have an easy time facing this moment was Gaga herself. The singer and actress received the news, moments before starting the filming of the song, that her best friend Sonja Durham had just passed away from cancer (via EW).

My great, great, great friend Sonja died of cancer that day. We had to shoot in 30 minutes and I left the set because her husband called me and I got in the car. She died 15 minutes before I got there. I lay down next to her, with her husband, with her dog, with her son…. When I came back, Bradley was very kind to me and we got through it. I played the song. He said, ‘You don’t have to do it again. It’s okay.’ All I wanted to do was sing. I’ll never forget that day. It was a very special scene and I will always remember that moment.

Gaga fans will know well the relationship between Gaga and Durham. In the Netflix artist documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, the two can be seen together moments before the singer’s Super Bowl halftime performance and how, prior to that event, Durham communicates bad news to Gaga about her illness. In addition, Durham was a regular in the images that Gaga uploaded to her Instagram account.
