The Wolf of Wall Street -whose original English title is The Wolf of Wall Street- is a 2013 film directed by Martin Scorsese, based on the memoir of the same name by Jordan Belfort. Written by Terence Winter and starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, alongside Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Jean Dujardin, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler and Matthew McConaughey, it is the fifth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio.[3] The film is the fifth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio.[3] The film is the fifth collaboration between the two.
The film tells the story of a New York stockbroker, played by DiCaprio, who refuses to cooperate in a securities fraud case involving Wall Street corruption, merchant banking and mob infiltration.[1][3][3] Stratton Oakmont is not long for the film.
Stratton Oakmont soon turns over a billion dollars, he is interviewed by Forbes magazine and gets a nickname: “the Wolf of Wall Street”. He also hires his parents Mad Max (Rob Reiner) and Leah Belfort (Brisa Lerma) as accountants.
When Aunt Emma dies, Belfort sees the twenty million dollars in the Swiss bank account in jeopardy. Saurel tells him that Aunt Emma had called him her successor on the account but that he has only one day to get to Switzerland to claim the money in the account. Drugged on his yacht, along with his friend Donnie, his wife and her wife, Belfort decides to give orders to sail to Monaco and from there drive to Switzerland to talk to Saurel. The captain of the boat does not recommend the same: the sea is rough and dangerous. But Belfort is drugged, ignores the captain and gives the order to sail. Unfortunately, the yacht sinks and they are rescued by sailors from Italy and Belfort realizes that he has put the lives of his family and friends, as well as his own, in danger. While on the sailors’ boat, Belfort sees the plane he had sent to rescue them explode in front of his eyes. It turns out that a seagull got inside an engine. Belfort believes it is a message from God and decides to stop taking drugs.

Certainly one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen in my life. When I saw the cast and the director and the actors, I thought: How interesting. But it was not so, after a few months I saw the trailer, pretty crazy but come on, I did not imagine that in this movie could be an american pie 2.0.Dicaprio does well, and jonah hill brings… See more
“The Wolf of Wall Street” is the movie that should have given Leonardo DiCaprio the Oscar. I know that since the Oscars gala was held and DiCaprio did not win the fact that people say he should have been the winner seems repetitive, but that does not mean it is a lie. From my point of view DiCaprio should have been the… See more
Every time I see an Escorsese movie the same thing happens to me, a great investment of money, a great visual spectacle, a great continent, a lot of tackiness, a lot of excess, but of empty content. Once again Martin’s favorite actor, overacted (I have only seen him well in Blood Diamonds and Catch Me If You Can). The movie is an invention of the… See more

Martin Scorsese’s film tells the story of the meteoric rise of this stockbroker who amassed hundreds of millions of dollars in a matter of months by swindling his investors. Millions of dollars that he also spent uncontrollably on parties, luxury goods, all kinds of drugs and prostitutes.
The Wolf of Wall Street was, at times, the brightest star on the U.S. stock market, but his brilliance lasted less than expected. Or perhaps it lasted longer than it should have? With the FBI on his heels almost from his first fraudulent operations, Jordan Belfort was able to evade the law for longer than one might imagine.
On the one hand, Leonardo DiCaprio. On the other side, Martin Scorsese. And on the other, Wall Street. What could go wrong? This trio came together to make a work of art that we have included among the 15 adult movies you can’t miss. The question is, where can you watch this movie online and in Spanish? Well, in two of the most famous streaming platforms in the market.

It’s a delight to discuss with intelligent people… even more so when their opinions might be completely contrary on certain things. Such is the case with Erick Estrada, our favorite cinephile and creator of Cinegarage.
When I told him about my micro-infarction when I saw The Wolf of Wall Street, we had a great conversation about his opinion of the film. I found it so interesting that I asked him to grace this blog with a post of his and he invited me to write a commentary on Cinegarage about why for me it should be “The Wolf of Wall Street infomercial” and what real financial lessons I think can be taken away from that movie.
There will be people who loved the movie and others who hated it. Corresponding to the mood of debate I leave you with Erick Estrada’s review, I invite you to check out mine on Cinegarage (you can read it here) and let me know what you thought:
The first one was New York, New York (USA, 1977), which in a schizophrenic and unbridled way accommodates in a very dry comedy the very rare relationship between two beings that, looking at them in a less aspirational way, would have nothing to do in a musical like this one.
