Para el curso 2020-2021, Coronado International School está preparado para comenzar a impartir clases online desde PK4 hasta 12º curso con la intención de migrar a clases presenciales cuando sea posible. Tendremos una oferta educativa flexible y proporcionaremos todos los recursos online y el apoyo de los profesores necesarios para aquellas familias que necesiten continuar su educación desde casa.
La interacción pedagógica se dividirá en dos partes fundamentales; la sincrónica que es el componente de interacción del estudiante y el profesor o facilitador en tiempo real a través de una videoconferencia y la asincrónica que es la interacción del estudiante y el profesor en forma diferida a través de las lecciones interactivas, tareas, autoevaluaciones y evaluaciones.
Nuestros programas académicos de inglés, español, estudios sociales, ciencias y matemáticas están respaldados por sólidas plataformas interactivas que apoyan el proceso de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Para la interacción pedagógica asincrónica seguiremos utilizando Seduca como plataforma central y la complementaremos con ThinkCentral, GoMath, Journeys, Science Fusion y Santillana para actividades y clases interactivas.

1 Santillana Virtual Classroom start-up procedure: students Introduction This document describes the procedure for installing and starting up the Virtual Classroom on the students’ computer, from user creation to connection with the teachers. The procedure is described with the desktop version of AV (Windows, Mac or Linux). This version is the recommended version to start with because it is easier to create the groups and enter the data with a computer than with a tablet. How to get the application The desktop version can be obtained from the website digital.santillana.es, by clicking on the Virtual Classroom button at the top of the page. 2 The download button is located after the description of the application. By clicking on this button, the web page returns the file corresponding to the operating system being used. The downloaded file is a compressed archive (.zip), with a different content depending on the operating system. Windows: the zip file contains an application called AulaVirtual.exe, which must be dragged to the desktop and run from there. Mac OSX: when the system automatically unzips the downloaded file, you have a file called AulaVirtual.app. To open it, drag it to the desktop first. Linux: copy the compressed file to the desktop and unzip the contents. A folder with the 32-bit and 64-bit versions will appear. The executable file is named nw. Santillana has been developing different technological tools and interactive content for some time, such as LibroMedia 5.0, LibroNet and the Virtual Classroom platform. The first is a solution that mirrors the paper book, but enriched with multimedia elements and activities. It allows the material to be customized with simple and functional tools: the teacher can include links to resources from the book itself, web pages, images, etc.
LibroNet, on the other hand, is a purely digital content (without paper correspondence), built in HTML and adapted to different devices. It contains a wide variety of multimedia resources and interactive activities and, using the Virtual Classroom platform, provides the maximum possible customization, even modifying the text to adapt it to the needs of the class, a group or a specific student.
The free Virtual Classroom platform provides a work environment where teachers can organize students into work groups, or create, send and receive assignments in digital format. It facilitates access to the contents of LibroMedia, LibroNet, reference material, etc. It has an evaluation module to monitor student activity and grades, as well as to consult progress reports. Each user has space in Santillana Cloud to make their customizations and store them.
