Canciones de joaquín sabina

Joaquín sabina 19 days and 500 nights

It had to be in the city of sin, where the one represented by Satan reached excellence. Joaquín Sabina received the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence in the city of Las Vegas, one of the few cities that maintain the 19 to 500 ratio between days and nights. He did it surrounded by his people.

That cry that escapes when suddenly an old photo of a past appears before you, that even if it has been overcome it is never forgotten; and that song that sounds with force and serves to scare away those ghosts of the past. A song that brings those who continue to toast to a brighter future to their feet. José Alfredo Jiménez signed lyrics of countless songs that you probably know and have never stopped to think about his authorship (if you don’t believe it, I dare you to check, no less than 3 of them you have sung more than once). Chavela Vargas has given her voice to several of them, and in many cases she has set the bar so high that no one has been able to surpass her mark to date.

One of our songs of heartbreak par excellence, and is that the lyrics are impressive, it is because of lyrics like this that we are convinced that Arjona is a sad attempt to reach the genius of Joaquin.

♫ Bitter as the wine of exile, as the Sunday of the pensioner, as a civil wedding, macabre as the belly of the missiles, like a bird on parade …, so am I, so am I, without you. ♪

Another song of the XXI century sneaks into the list and this poetry made song of 2005 is a true work of art and is also a song full of hope that makes us believe that there is something on the other side of the black cloud.

Joaquín sabina wedding nights lyrics

Sabina makes a great song here to talk about the contradictions that we all bring as standard, about the different “I’s” that fight for a place inside each one of us, including him of course: “To you I’m talking, to you / who never follow my advice, / to you I’m shouting, to you / who are in my skin, / to you who are crying there, / on the other side of the mirror, / to you who I owe / more than the push that last night / that led me to write this song”. This song, we know, is one of Sabina’s favorites. It must be for a reason.

A great and very unknown song by Sabina that was commissioned for the soundtrack of the film of the same title, directed by Ángel Llorente. It was released in single format, but it is pure Sabina’s DNA at the time when he started to stand out, when the artist was burning his life in his mid-thirties. With a certain guitar air between country and folk, and lyrics that already hint at the Sabina that was to come, it is the story of a love triangle that, like almost all of them, does not end too well.
