Love is not what it used to be. Or is it. Fortunately for us, romantic comedy has been helping us to overcome bad times or to strengthen relationships for more than a century. It also serves as simple entertainment or as a winning bet if you have family visiting.

It sounds simple, but from that premise, the paths are endless. Of course, as always, this list is personal and follows my criteria and taste, so I imagine that, like all of them, it will be a breeding ground for comments of dubious taste instead of trying to debate.

This pinnacle of desperate romantic comedy still doesn’t appear in the genre’s lists, I imagine so as not to catch anyone in a rancor. Tender, charming, full of animals and with a couple of dramatic twists that fit like a glove in what is undoubtedly the best romantic comedy of this ideal couple.

Nicholas Stoller debuted with a big hit in the form of nothing less than a revolutionary, lifelong classic love story with a patina of all the modernity and existential bitterness of the moment. A cast of stars, low blows and a scene-stealer so mind-blowing that he would later have his own movie. A masterpiece.

Words cannot describe all the feelings that invade you when watching Luca Guadagnino’s film. Four Oscar nominations could be considered insufficient with all the value that exists in this masterpiece. It is mandatory to see it in the coming weeks and if possible in original version so that it does not lose its essence. And let’s not forget to talk about its soundtrack that is pure art.

The chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence is palpable from the first shot in which they appear on screen. Can sex without commitment exist between friends without either party being harmed? This is the hypothesis that Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake try to test throughout the film. The end result? You can imagine, but at least the laughs are guaranteed!
