Following the withdrawal agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom, a transitional period is enabled during which the rights of citizens regarding the recognition of driving licenses between the two institutions are maintained.
After the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union and the end of the transitional period, Royal Decree Law 38/2020 extended the entitlement for British driving licenses until April 30, 2022. Consequently, valid and current driving licenses issued by the British authorities will enable their holders to drive in our country until that date.
