Al finalizar las pruebas se emite un documento en el que se detallan tres categorías de defectos: defectos leves, defectos graves y defectos muy graves. La presencia de defectos graves dará lugar a un resultado de inspección “desfavorable”, y los defectos muy graves darán lugar a una puntuación de inspección “negativa”. Si se encuentran las faltas graves o muy graves, el vehículo debe ser reparado antes de que se pueda emitir una ITV. Si se encuentran faltas muy graves, el vehículo no puede salir del centro de inspección.
