With its compact SUV profile, the new Niro stands out for its smooth proportions. On the road, its relatively wide floor plan inspires stability and a low center of gravity.  The relatively long hood, short overhangs, high light clusters and a rising shoulder line, KIA’s hybrid SUV has an athletic crossover presence, which contrasts in relation to other hybrid models currently available in the car market.

The KIA Niro Hybrid boasts homologated CO2 emissions of just 88 g/km (combined cycle), as well as average fuel consumption of 3.8 liters per hundred kilometers.  The 1.56 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery is the lightest and most efficient KIA has ever used. It boasts 50% higher energy density and 13% higher energy efficiency than batteries from leading rivals.

Overall, it weighs just 33 kilograms and can regenerate electrical energy during deceleration phases, as does the Toyota CH-R, one of this vehicle’s rivals. In this comparison of the KIA Niro versus the Toyota CH-R you can see how both models manage energy.
